|Here is the first light test image from my new Esprit
120. The initial unit had some optical issues and SkyWatcher has sent
me a replacement. This is the first test image off the new scope and
I'm impressed at the quality of the stellar images right to the corners.
The image is a very short 12 minute exposure taken with a crescent Moon in the sky from an urban setting.

No calibration frames were used,
stacking, statistical filter applied to reduce noise before stretching.
stretching and split star processing
used to enhance the image. Masked noise reduction using a frequency
domain lowpass filter applied to the DSO layer and then it was
recombined with the star layer. Image binned 2 by 2. Final sharpening
