Ghost of Merope Nebula

This is a reprocess of a Pleiades shot I took at the Nova East star party. It was processed to reveal the Ghost of Merope Nebula. The Ghost is a small reflection nebula nestled next to the bright star Merope in M45.

Processing This image was processed entirely in Images Plus. Calibration, stacking, statistical filter applied to reduce noise before stretching. Since the 60Da has on sensor dark suppression no darks were used in the calibration. The image was slightly stretched using a curve adjustment and then cropped to the area around Merope. The cropped image was then enlarged by a factor of three and then deconvolution was applied to bring out the detail in the nebula. Once the sharpening brought out as much detail as possible the image was binned by two.
