Leo 1

This picture was taken as an experiment in urban imaging. It was taken under very transparent skies, but the limiting visual magnitude was about 3.5 due to light polution coming from the surrounding city. The galaxy required at least a 3 to 5 minute exposures to become sky limited so the camera ISO was reduced from my normal 1600 to 400 so that the sky background would not saturate the image. It was only after I downloaded the data that I discovered my mount was not properly synched to the sky and I was pointed at the wrong side of Regulus so the galaxy is at the very top center of the frame.
