Crescent Nebula in an Unmodded 350D

Here is an image taken with an unmodded Canon 350D. Because the camera is unmodified it has poor Ha sensitivity so the image is muted and lacking the red associated  with this object. For a comparison shot with my Canon 60Da click here.
Object NGC6888 Object RA 20:12.8 Dec +38:19
Exposure 45 minutes (9 X 5 minutes)
ISO 800
Camera Canon 350D DSLR
Optics 8" f/4 Schmidt Newtonian Telescope
Location St. Croix Observatory
Processing Calibration and stacking done with Images Plus. Background correction and noise reduction applied then the stars were separated from the rest of the image. This allowed different stretches to be applied to the DSO and the stars. The star colour was enhanced. A slight tracking error was removed from the star layer . Finally the star and DSO layers were recombined to produce the final image.
